The one flower that I love more than gerbera daisies, would have to be the peony. With the beautiful variety of colors and the scrumptuous scent, they are like no other. And Blooms (your local Seattle florist) has them, direct from the growers.
Did you know that the peony is named after Paeon (also spelled Paean), a student of Asclepius, the Greek god of medicine and healing. Asclepius became jealous of his pupil; Zeus saved Paeon from the wrath of Asclepius by turning him into the peony flower. And boy does he smell great!
